What better way to listen to a record called jour de grève, which was recorded during the 2019 strikes in France, than with a bottle of old gamay from Auvergne, whose label also calls for resistance and struggle. Emmanuelle Parrenin is a 70s folk singer who accompanies her singing by playing the hurdy-gurdy, the medieval ancestor of the drone. Together with Detlef Weinrich, better known for his solo project Toulouse Low Trax or as member of the group Kreidler, as well as for his sets as Dj Sport for Salon des Amateurs in Düsseldorf. They have created this heady, wild and captivating album, composed of shamanic ritornellos with a familiar sound and calling for trance. A music that is free and alive with a political mind, like this bottle of wine from L'Egrappille.
