Domaine Goepp
Sylvaner 2020

The Sylvaner is an emblematic and generous grape variety from Alsace that continues to gain recognition. The Goepp family decided to plant the Sylvaner on the marl-limestone soil of the vineyard, a hill just a few steps from the winery, whose name means "mountain of wine" in Alsatian. The combination of Sylvaner and this particular terroir allows minerality, freshness and a touch of flowers to be expressed on the palate. This dry wine is the best example of thoughtful soil management and viticulture that meets the needs of the vines as much as possible. The vines from which the grapes come are almost forty years old and have an average yield of 60hl/ha. The wine is aged for 13 months in oak barrels on the full lees.
