    Pierre Beauger

    Auvergne

In 2001, after two years of training and various internships, notably with Thierry Puzelat in Touraine, Pierre began making his first wines.
Pierre, who had originally envisioned himself as a farmer or a rancher, returned to his native Puy-de-Dôme and rented 1.5 hectares of vines, Gamay, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, which gave birth to the iconic V.I.T.R.I.O.L. and Champignon Magique.
In 2003, he acquired and restored 3 hectares of old drystone terraces on the slopes of Champeix. In 2004, he planted 1.5 hectares of vines (Pinot Gris, Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and a little Syrah). These are lands that have not been cultivated for more than fifty years and where there have never been chemical " saloperies " where the vine grows alongside almond trees, elderberry, hawthorn and countless other plants.
To be even closer to nature, Pierre has been farming his land for a few years with the help of Bijou, his young ox that weighs about as much as a full pallet of wine.
His knowledge of nature and humanity and the careful handling of them, is the cornerstone of his work, resulting in one of the most extraordinary elixirs you have ever drunk.
