    Jean-François Ginglinger

    Frankreich / Elsass

Founded in 1610 by the Ginglinger family, the estate is now run by Jean-François Ginglinger, an extremely sympathetic and talented winemaker. Influenced by his uncle and mentor Gérard Schueller, he focused his attention on a careful work in the vineyard, since 2015 even with the help of a horse to manage the soils particularly gently. Exchanges with neighbouring winemakers, such as Jean-Pierre Frick, Patrick Mayer or his cousin Bruno Schueller, influence Jean's cellar work. Natural winemaking using the yeasts present in the vineyard and chai, without additives and with a minimum of necessary manoeuvres is meeting with increasing approval in Alsace too. Ginglinger's wines are refreshing and harmonious. Jean's warmth and wit can be found in the bottle. His wines have a special character with clearly developed aromas of the typical grape varieties and the exciting terroir from which they originate. If you give them time, this becomes even clearer.
